StatusGator vs Outage Clock

Starter is $19 a month.

StatusGator has aggregated vendor status pages since 2015 and says it tracks more than 11,000 services. It has grown into a broad platform: status pages for your own product, website and ping monitoring, early warning signals, and integrations with help desks, incident tools, chat apps and digital signage. Outage Clock is narrower. We watch vendor status pages and send alerts.

What StatusGator does that we do not

  • Coverage of a very large catalog of services built over many years
  • Early warning signals for disruptions before vendors post them, as described on its site
  • Integrations with help desks such as Zendesk and Freshdesk, incident tools such as PagerDuty and Opsgenie, and screens for digital signage
  • Features for education customers and enterprise needs

If those matter to you, StatusGator is the stronger choice.

Why you might choose Outage Clock

  • You want a free plan for a few vendors and a low price for a small stack
  • You only need alerts to email, Slack, Teams or a webhook
  • You prefer a short settings page to a large product

FAQ

Is Outage Clock just a cheaper StatusGator?

It is smaller in scope, and priced for small teams. That is a different product, not a copy.

Do you detect outages before vendors post them?

We run our own reachability check on each vendor's homepage or API, which can show a total outage early. We do not claim to predict partial incidents before a vendor reports them.
